There are a couple of upcoming events that some of you may be interested in taking part in.
On July 24th we will be having a “Habs vs. Leafs team match play event. It will be set up like the Rider Cup, pitting fans of either team against each other for bragging rights for the rest of the golf season, or at least until opening night of the NHL season. The cost to play is $5, which does not include a meal, but a special will be offered that day. If you want to play but don’t support either team you can either play for the side you “hate” the least, or you can register as an open player and we’ll put you on whichever side needs a player to balance. The registration sheet is on the bulletin board in the hallway in the clubhouse. This tournament was a lot of fun last year, and I’m sure it will be again this year.
On July 29th our Junior program wraps up, and will be having their closing 9 hole tournament. The cost is $10 per player, which will include prizes and a meal. It’s a fun way for the Junior players to get comfortable playing by themselves, or if they are more serious, to get used to playing in a tournament environment. Deadline for registration is 22 July, with payment to Brent Jones, the Junior Coordinator. Entry payment can also be left in the pro shop in a sealed envelope addressed to Brent.
Members with privately owned drive carts can now pick up their “registration decal” in the pro shop.
If you have not paid your “rec card fee” yet, please see the pro shop as soon as possible.
Any outstanding “complimentary green fee passes” that do not have an expiry date will only be honored until the end of this golf season. If you have any passes, or know of anyone who does, please make sure you use them.
The golf club donation has gone very well, we would like to thank all the members who have dropped of clubs for us.
