Wow…it is June already! Now that we have had a little bit of
rain the course is in even better shape. It is so nice to be able to
have a relaxing game of golf and enjoy the course…and the wild life.
Apparently we have a huge turtle in the pond on # 11 and there have
been sightings of deer, a fox and a coyote… and of course there are
the usual black flies and bees.

We were very lucky on the weekend of May 29-30…the weather man
co-operated and we had a nice weekend for the Founders and Builders
Mixed Scramble. There were 21 teams competing and they came from
Halifax, Yarmouth, and the Valley Clubs. Thanks to all those who took
part in the tournament and to those who helped organize it. The meal
on Saturday was Roast Beef and it was yummy. We held a 50/50 both days
and Vern Crossman won the first day and John MacMichael won on Sunday.
Sunday was also a special day for Bert and Wayne Myers who celebrated
their 40th wedding anniversary …….celebrating with 84 of your
golfing friends…can’t get better than that.
There were some Closest to the Hole prizes for Sat and Sunday. Mens:

second year in a row……..
Pete Foy & Janice Spinney and Rhonda Gullage and her son with a net score of 88. This is the first time for Rhonda and her son to play in the tournament, Lorne McMullen and Mary Cameron Kelly from last year’s winning team were unable to attend.
Congratulations to all the winners and we hope to see everyone back
again next year.
Tuesday Night Mens was cancelled on June 1st….due to rain. and there
is a change to the Mens Night Scramble…it will be JUNE 15th with a
meal to follow. Teams to be made up at 2:30 and play starts at 3:00
p.m. (18 Holes)…..this will be a 3 man team so be on time to sign up.
Wednesday Night Ladies: Fifteen ladies played Ladies Night on Wed.
June 2. It was a great evening for golf- relatively warm, no wind and
only a few bugs.,The format for play was BINGO-BANGO-BONGO (one point
for each first on the green, closest to the pin and first in the hole)
with the resulting scores ranging from 6 at the low end and 12 at the
high end. Winners included Sandy Adams, Sue Burke, Margie Welin,
Paulette Swindells, Alice Langille, Margarite Minkoff and Sheila
Johnson. The winner of the 50/50 pot was Sue Burke. Each Wednesday
evening is a fun night for 9 holes of Ladies golf. Please come out and join in the fun. ….. just be at the Club House between 4:30 and 4:45.
Don’t forget the Rose Bowl Tournament for Ladies will be June
27th…..sign up sheets will be in the Ladies Locker room.

Eden Ladies are hosting a tournament the weekend of June 5-6th and some of our ladies are going, so hopefully I will have some good news
